Shaun is a writer, director and educator. His writing credits include The Understudy, Three Points of Contact, Another Dead Rock Star, Grace, Rio Saki and Other Falling Debris (which won the 1997 George Landen Dann Award), and the stage adaptations of Andrew McGahan’s novels Last Drinks and The White Earth (co-written and co-directed with Andrew McGahan for La Boite Theatre Company). He also co-wrote and directed Lead Sister (for the Brisbane Powerhouse) and wrote the text for the musical Paradise (for Backbone Youth Arts). As a director Shaun has mainly worked on new Australian works, including the première productions of Linda Hassall's Post Office Rose and Andrew McGahan's Bait.

Shaun also lectures drama subjects at Griffith University and has contributed arts articles to The Courier Mail, The Australian and Writing Queensland Magazine.
